How Does Kat’s Naturals Extract Its CBD?

For the purest CBD oil extract, Kat’s Naturals uses the supercritical CO2 method to extract CBD from their hemp plants. In short, CO₂, or carbon dioxide, is transformed into a liquid and passed through the hemp. It extracts the full range of cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant material.

At room temperature and atmospheric pressure, carbon dioxide is a gas. The process of cooling and compressing the carbon dioxide turns the gas into a liquid. This occurs at around 69 degrees Fahrenheit and at 75 pounds per square inch of pressure.

Next, a compressor and heater increase the temperature and pressure applied to the now liquid carbon dioxide. The increased temperature and pressure causes the carbon dioxide to enter a supercritical state. When CO2 is supercritical, it maintains its density like a liquid, but it can also fill a container like a gas.

Next, the supercritical gas passes through the hemp. As it passes through, it extracts all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other phytochemicals from the hemp. The resulting solution enters a separator, where the carbon dioxide turns back into a liquid and is recycled through the extraction process.

Kat’s Naturals chooses to use supercritical CO2 extraction because it yields the purest and safest products. Supercritical CO2 extraction does not leave behind any harsh solvents, and due to the triple distillation process, all of Kat’s Naturals’ products won’t taste earthy like lesser quality CBD oil extracts.

In another curious case, sometimes banks will notify their clients that their transaction has been blocked. Kat’s Naturals advises customers to simply call their banks and approve the transaction. Customers will receive notification once their orders have been shipped, and they’ll receive a tracking number as well.

If a customer is dissatisfied with their Kat’s Naturals product, they can request a full refund for the purchase price within 30 days of receiving the product. However, there is no more information on returns, methods of shipping, or damage claims.

Our Verdict on Kat’s Naturals

While we really admire Kat’s Naturals’ dedication to transparency and their drive to make a positive impact on the community and environment, we truly wish their site had more information. Looking at Kat Merryfield’s LinkedIn page yields similarly sparse results.

While anecdotes are inspiring and even enlightening, consumers have every right to exercise caution when encountering a company whose two official LinkedIn pages contradict each other on the date of Kat’s Naturals’ founding.
