Koi CBD is a Norwalk, California-based company established in 2015 with the mission to create a standard of quality for CBD products. Their focus is to combat the flood of sub-par products that either don’t have any CBD in them or contain far less amounts than purported.
Koi CBD claims to use 99% pure cannabidiol extracted through pharma grade processes in a cGMP certified facility. They believe this process produces the most consistent, finest hemp-derived CBD products available on the market today.
The makers of Koi are quick to point out that their products are legal in all 50 states and contains 0% THC, contain no pesticides, are solvent free, and are each lab tested for purity, safety, and consistency.
Koi CBD’s Product Quality
Of the many companies we’ve researched, Koi CBD rates high on the list when it comes to apparent quality. They offer extensive information about all the ingredients in their products, which are all listed right on each product’s sales page.
Koi is also forthcoming on their website about where their products are sourced. All of their hemp is grown from a single farm in Colorado, where they farm hemp that is, “nurtured by the bright sunshine of the San Luis Valley and clear headwaters of the Rio Grande and transform them into the highest quality CBD products.”
But they’re just as inclined to show as they are to tell, which brings us to the lab tests.
Lab Testing
One great thing about Koi CBD is that they have lab results readily available for customers to read on their website for each and every product. The results are very easy to find and navigate through, which is great for customers who want to know exactly what they’re getting, and not getting.
Here is a sample lab report for Koi’s healing balm. It not only shows the amount of CBD in each unit, it also shows the amount of THC in the product (none, as per the Koi mission statement), and gives the product pass/fail marks on ingredients like heavy metals, pesticides, and mycotoxins.

The Koi CBD website has a lot of reviews very visible on the website’s product pages, as well as curated quotes and more lengthy testimonials that are highlighted various other pages of the site. We didn’t see any negative feedback in relation to Koi’s Customer Service team and they offer a lot of different ways to contact their team, as well as an extensive FAQ page. According to their shipping and returns policy, Koi CBD takes customer satisfaction very seriously, but while they do say any product can be returned if found unsatisfactory, they stop short of stating that all refunds will be approved. They also state in no uncertain terms that the customer will bear the responsibility for the cost of return shipping.
Once ordered, the website’s FAQ section states that it usually takes 3-5 business days to receive your product. That said, on the shipping policy page, the estimate for shipping is listed at 3-7 days. One thing we really like is that Koi CBD offers free shipping for orders over $35, which is a much lower cap than many of the other companies we’ve reviewed.

Koi CBD has a very large selection of products available via their website, with six distinct line, including tinctures, topical oils, gummies, vape juice, cartridges, and CBD for pets.
With prices ranging from $9.99-$169.00 for single products and variety packs ranging from $159.96-$399.96, they do have a lot of options for every budget.
Gummies come in 6 piece or 20 piece bags, retailing for $9.99 and $29.99 respectively. The gummy flavor options are Tropical Fruit and Tropical Fruit Sour, and Koi touts these as “America’s Best Tasting Gummies.”
Koi Natural Tinctures come in a variety of strengths, ranging from 250g all the way up to 2500mg and are priced accordingly, between $39.99-$169.99. They offer orange, lemon-lime, and spearmint. Koi also offers vape juice in 30ml bottles in varying strengths, ranging from 100mg to 1000mg priced at $29.99 to $99.99 respectively. In regards to topical CBD, they have two products. One is a lotion which retails at $39.99 called Lavender Koi. The other is a rub for $59.99 called Koi Healing Balm.

We found the site both easy to use and navigate, and appreciated the layout, with reviews above the fold and easy to find.
One cool thing Koi offers that we haven’t seen before is a discount for Veterans. It’s a whopping 25% off their products for life. Applicants must be approved and there are some requirements as far as proving Veteran status, but it seems like a really great deal, and an amazing way to honor those brave men and women. Especially in light of the recent research on the potential value of CBD for PTSD.
