Are you looking for a CBD company with an unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and social good? Let us introduce you to Charlotte’s Web.
Who Is Charlotte’s Web?
Formerly known as Stanley Brothers Holdings, this collection of dispensaries, greenhouses, and farms officially became Charlotte’s Web Holdings, Inc. in 2012. Prior to that point, the Stanley brothers had been cultivating low-THC, high-CBD industrial hemp. This full-spectrum CBD oil was being used to manage chemotherapy side effects, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis flare-ups, and even diabetes.
Charlotte’s Web and Meeting Their Namesake
Soon after they opened their dispensaries, they were introduced to Charlotte Figi—a little girl experiencing severe seizures caused by Dravet Syndrome.
Charlotte began life with no signs of ill health, but at three months, she began experiencing severe seizures. After still more seizures and hospital stays, they discovered it was Dravet Syndrome—a rare form of intractable epilepsy.
When a regimen of medications, a battery of endless medical tests, and the ketogenic diet all failed to cure or alleviate Charlotte’s symptoms, her mother Paige decided to try medical marijuana. She had heard it had helped another little boy with Dravet Syndrome, and after exhausting all other options, she approached the Stanley brothers for help.
After supplementing Charlotte’s diet with twice-daily servings of their specially formulated CBD oil, she now walks, talks, feeds herself, and only has seizures two to three times a month. Prior to that point, little Charlotte was having up to 300 grand mal seizures a week.
Charlotte’s Web’s Commitment to Social Justice, Charity, and Compassion
In everything it does, Charlotte’s Web is passionate about making this planet and its people better. With a background in botany, they strive to be the CBD industry leaders in quality, consistency and safety. What’s more, their facilities go above and beyond their competitors in the CBD industry. They are in the process of seeking USDA organic certification, and all their facilities are registered with the FDA.
With an eye to unlocking the full benefits of CBD, they are also dedicated to educating, researching, and helping those around them through their non-profit, the Realm of Caring. Through various initiatives and grants, they provide educational classes, one-on-one sessions, and financial assistance to help offset the cost of trying or obtaining cannabinoid therapy.
Charlotte’s Web’s Dedication to Quality
All of Charlotte’s Web’s industrial hemp is grown in 100 percent organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO conditions on Colorado farms. They never use any fungicides, herbicides, or pesticides on any of their plants. Instead, they use natural predators, like ladybugs, to keep pests away from their crops.

What’s more, all their plants are tended by hand and monitored by an in-house team of agronomists and chemists to ensure the highest possible level of purity and quality.
Charlotte’s Web’s Commitment to Transparency
While the exact genetic makeup of their hemp plants is proprietary, Charlotte’s Web is very transparent in their cultivation and manufacturing process.
First, the hemp plants begin as seedlings. Then, depending on weather conditions, these seedlings either continue their growth inside the greenhouse or are planted in their 120-acre field.
Next, fully mature plants are hung out to dry in the barn. It can take about eight months before these plants are ready to undergo the extraction process.
Next, these plants are tested for heavy metals and other contaminants. After they’ve been cleared, machines strip the flowers and leaves from the stalks.
Supercritical CO2 CBD Extraction
To extract the CBD, the flowers and leaves of the industrial hemp are placed into an extractor. Then, carbon dioxide is compressed and turned into a liquid state. It is brought down to below 69 degrees F and subjected to 75 pounds per square inch of pressure.
Afterward, the temperature and pressure are both increased until the carbon dioxide adopts the traits of both a liquid and a gas. At this point, it has become supercritical. To extract the CBD, the supercritical carbon dioxide is passed through the hemp.
The resulting solution of carbon dioxide and terpene oils then passes through a separator. The CBD oil goes into a collection vessel, and the supercritical carbon dioxide gets condensed back into its liquid form and reused.
Finally, Charlotte’s Web passes this extract through several filters to ensure there is no plant material. The filtered CBD extract is then tested for heavy metals, microbial contaminants, residual solvents, and pesticides. Once clear, it’s bottled and packaged in a clean room.
Charlotte’s Web Lab Test Results
Charlotte’s Web makes all its lab test results available to its customers. Simply enter the batch number of your product to see the most current certificate of analysis. However, you can also email customer service to find the specific report for your product.
As an additional touch, Charlotte’s Web has also uploaded a video which gives customers an exclusive look inside their lab and CBD extraction process.
