Are you a CBD user who is looking for a company at the forefront of innovation within the CBD industry? Let us introduce you to 4 Corners Cannabis.
Founded in 2013 by two brothers with over 30 years of experience in the cannabis industry, 4 Corners Cannabis is named for the Four Corners region in Colorado.
Their mission is to produce the highest quality complete-spectrum, CBD-dominant products in the cannabis industry. Thus, they work hard to develop and hone proprietary processes to help them stand head-and-shoulders above the competition in both quality and potency.
4 Corners Cannabis’ Guiding Principles
4 Corners Cannabis is dedicated to quality and transparency. They make their current third-party lab test results available to the public, and they derive their CBD-dominant products from high-quality hemp grown organically for that purpose.
4 Corners Cannabis’ Dedication to Quality
4 Corners Cannabis maintains full control over the quality and consistency of their CBD-dominant products from seed to sale. As such, all their complete-spectrum, CBD-dominant products start with organic hemp bred specifically for CBD consumption.
Ma’at is a super strain of hemp which is bred specifically for its high CBD content. Grown at 6,900 feet above sea level in Durango, CO, 4 Corners Cannabis notes that it has both the appearance, taste, and scent of marijuana. Though it shares similarities with marijuana, Ma’at is bred from strains of hemp which were neither produced for their fiber nor for their THC.
In its plant form, Ma’at contains anywhere from 16 to 17 percent CBD. Once it has undergone the ethanol extraction process, 4 Corners Cannabis’ complete extract cannabis oil contains more than 60 percent CBD.
To ensure consistency and quality across its cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profiles, 4 Corners Cannabis grows its hemp from clones. After the extraction process is complete, they compost any leftover plant material so it can nourish the soil for the next crop.
4 Corners Cannabis CBD Extraction Process
In order to extract a complete range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, 4 Corners Cannabis uses ethanol-based extraction. This Ethyl alcohol is derived from sugar cane and is certified organic by the USDA.
In short, the ethanol is added to the hemp, which then acts as a solvent. As it passes through the plant material, it extracts the full range of cannabinoids and other compounds from the hemp flowers.
4 Corners Cannabis uses the ethanol extraction method because it extracts the compounds without applying a lot of heat. In turn, this preserves the many heat-sensitive compounds in the plant. Additionally, this low-temperature extraction prevents the THCA from becoming psychoactive THC.
After it has been extracted, the resulting oil is filtered three times to get rid of any plant material. Then, the filtered CBD-dominant extract is distilled in order to remove any traces of alcohol. After all traces of the solvent has been removed, 4 Corners Cannabis uses it in their CBD-dominant products.

A Quick Note on CBD Grades
According to 4 Corners Cannabis, their product is up to 100 times more effective than that produced by their competitors. In their FAQ section, they point out that other CBD companies manufacture low-grade CBD products which often fall within the range of 1X to 5X. However, their complete-spectrum, CBD-dominant extracts are rated at 100X, making them potentially 100 times more potent.
While they do cite a source for this grading method, the link has since become defunct. What’s more, the doctor in question appears to have had his license revoked by the state of California.

Our Verdict
4 Corners Cannabis’ site was easy to navigate, and we found their “Science” section to be helpful in understanding CBD basics. What’s more, we were impressed by their seed-to-sale approach and that they derive all their CBD-dominant products from their exclusive super strain of hemp.
With that being said, 4 Corners Cannabis made many claims which couldn’t be independently verified. For instance, the source for their grading system has since become defunct, and the doctor associated with the piece has had his license revoked.
Additionally, outside of reviews, the only other places we found mentioning the Ma’at super strain of hemp were located here in this High CBD Hemp piece and here in this Reddit thread.
Regardless, if you’re looking for a company who oversees their product from seed to sale, we encourage you to check 4 Corners Cannabis out.
